About the author - pj escobedo

PJ Escobedo

Animator, Director and Author of Little Scrooge and the Technologies of Christmas

It all started with a Snowman. Beginning in 2009 with working on a cartoon in animation school at Kaplan University, PJ made several animations of Lucky the Snowman that blossomed into jobs working in different areas of entertainment. PJ created more animations as hobby with the idea of a book that would highlight the technology addiction behaviors of children formed from personal experience. Producing the Little Scrooge play in 2012 was a challenge that proved there was awareness of this issue. In 2018 he produced a book version and worked toward making animations for Lucky the Snowman during the covid-19 lockdown. After many years in 2025 the audiobook was released with plans for an animated series currently in production.

Lucky the Snowman

It all started with a Snowman. Lucky the Snowman was the inspiration created in animation school at Kaplan University. A cartoon series is available on the Lucky the Snowman Facebook page. In this 10-episode series, the characters from the story Little Scrooge and the Technologies of Christmas are interacting during the Covid-19 lockdown portrayed in a way to reflect the pop culture events at the time.

History of the Escobedo - Documentary

During the Covid-19 lockdown PJ Escobedo decided to find out about his heritage from stories his aunt Bea told him when he was a child. Three stories were always questioned about her claim that the Escobedo name was synonymous with one of the fathers of Modern Day Mexico, a commander of the Spanish fleet against the Pirate King in the battle against the Pirates of the Caribbean, and the first royal in America.

To his surprise he found a genealogy study that proved these were not just stories but factual events that shaped his understanding of where his roots were from. This documentary series was produced on the Facebook page History of the Escobedo tracing his roots and the origins of the name Escobedo in historical documents dating back over 500 years across 3 continents.
